September 14 Thursday rain misty Bicycle touring Germany We sat at the picnic table all day. It rained for quite some time. Water drops cling to pine needles like shimmering pearl drops. In the evening, we push our loaded touring bikes farther up the slope into the forest to find a flatter spot before it is totally black like last night. Sharon found a tick embedded in her shoulder. I got out our tick removal tool and clamped it on. After three turns the tick was quickly and painlessly out. What a great purchase! Sure beats gouging the tick's head out with a needle for fifteen minutes. |
