Murder

With the continuing rain we stayed in the forest for two days. It poured throughout the nights and days were extremely overcast. Thunder boomed and lightning flashed brightly as I hugged my waterproof pants.

We were down to half a bottle of water. Sharon produced a big pot of spaghetti. I was amazed at how it was possible with so little water. I found out she had used the jar of pickle juice. Probably so I couldn't drink it.

I was reading Ngaio Marsh's Death and the Dancing Footman. Just as the death occurred, crows flew overhead and landed in trees above our tent cawing and raising an all out ruckus for ten minutes. A murder of crows had shown up with impeccable timing.
