Armor of God

Ephesians 6: 13-18
"Therefore put on the full armor of God,
so that when the day of evil comes,
you may be able to stand your ground,
and after you have done everything
to stand.
Stand firm then, with the belt of
truth buckled around your waist,
with the breastplate of righteousness
in place,
and with your feet fitted with the
readiness that comes from the
gospel of peace.
In addition to all this, take up
the shield of faith, with which you can
extinguish all the flaming arrows of
the evil one.
Take the helmet of salvation
and the sword of the Spirit, of which
is the word of God.
And pray in the Spirit on all
occasions with all kinds of prayers
and requests.
With this in mind, be alert and
always keep on praying for all
the saints."
My precious brothers and sisters
in Christ.
With the armor of God we have
full protection.
Put on your full suit of armor,
every morning.
Because the devil comes as a thief
in the night.
Yes! without warning.
With the full armor of God
you are spiritually energized.
You have the power and authority as
Jesus did, when He lived on earth.
To relinquish the devil.

Belt of truth:
Truth - Something in accord with
reality and therefore accurate,
reliable, and in the case of God,
trustworthy.
The one who practices God's word
will "know the truth" and
discover for himself that "the
truth will make you free."
John 8: 31-32
"To the Jews who believed him,
Jesus said, "If you hold to my
teaching, you are really my disciples.
Then you will know the truth,
and the truth will set you free."
Keep your belt of truth secure!
Breastplate of righteousness.
Righteousness - An absolute quality
of God, who always acts in harmony
with his moral nature.
Psalm 4: 1
"Answer me when I call you,
O my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress;
be merciful to me and hear
my prayer."

Gospel of peace:
Peace - It is peace with God. We are
no longer God's enemies, but in Christ
we have been reconciled to him.
Romans 5: 1-11
"Therefore since we have been
justified through faith, we have
peace with God through our Lord
Jesus Christ,
through whom we have gained
access by faith into this grace in
which we now stand. And we rejoice
in the hope of the glory of God.
Not only so, but we also rejoice in
our sufferings, because we know
that suffering produces perseverance;
perseverance character, and
character hope.
And hope does not disappoint us,
because God has poured out his love
into our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
whom he has given us.
Very rarely will anyone die for
a righteous man, though for a
good man someone might
possibly dare to die.
But God demonstrates his
own love for us in this: While we
were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Since we have now been justified
by his blood, how much more shall we
be saved from God's wrath through him!
For if, when we were God's enemies,
we were reconciled to him through
the death of his Son, how much
more having been reconciled
shall we be saved through his life!
Not only is this so, but we also
rejoice in God through our Lord
Jesus Christ, through whom we
have now received reconciliation."

Shield of faith:
Faith - Belief, confidence, trust,
reliance. In the Bible, religious faith
is a life-shaping attitude toward God.
The person with faith considers God's
revelation of himself and of truth
to be certain and sure.
The person with faith then responds
to God with trust, love, and
obedience.
Hebrews 11: 1
"Now faith is being sure of
what we hope for and certain
of what we do not see.
Faith in Christ is our
guarantee of eternal life."

Helmet of salvation:
Salvation - Scripture makes it
clear that the work of salvation is
God's work, accomplished on our behalf
by Jesus Christ. Man's part in salvation
is to receive the grace given to us.
This grace is received by faith alone,
and faith is to be understood as an
active trust in God rather than mere
intellectual assent to statements
about him.
2 Timothy 1: 8-10
"So do not be ashamed
to testify about our Lord, or
ashamed of me his prisoner.
But join with me in suffering
for the gospel, by the power of
God,
who has saved us and
called us to a holy life -
not because of anything we
have done but because of his
own purpose and grace.
This grace was given us in
Christ Jesus before the beginning
of time,
but it has now been revealed
through the appearing of our
Savior, Christ Jesus, who has
destroyed death and has brought life
and immortality to light through
the gospel."
Hebrews 4: 12-13
"For the word of God is living
and active. Sharper than a
double-edged sword, it penetrates
even to dividing soul and spirit,
joints and marrow; it judges the
thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Nothing in all creation is
hidden from God's sight.
Everything is uncovered and
laid bear before the eyes of him
to whom we must give account."

Pray in the Spirit:
Prayer - Prayer is offered
in the name of Jesus.
Christ presented himself as
the way, the truth, and the life,
and said, "No one comes to the
Father except through me."
John 14: 6
"Jesus answered, 'I am
the way and the truth and
the life. No one comes to
the Father except through me.'"
In his death for us, Jesus
fully opened the way to God.
To come to God in Christ's name
is to come having
accepted the salvation Jesus
died to provide - and identifying
ourselves with his values and
character.
God actively encourages
us to pray by urging us to
ask, seek, and knock.
Matthew 7: 7-11
"Ask and it will be given
to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened
to you.
For everyone who asks receives;
he who seeks finds; and to him who
knocks, the door will be opened.
Which of you, if his son asks
for bread will give him a stone?
Or if he asks for a fish, will
give him a snake?
If you, then, though you are evil,
know how to give good gifts to
your children, how much more will
your Father in heaven give good
gifts to those who ask him!"
God promises that when what
we ask is within the framework
established by his known and specific
will, we can be sure that our request
will be granted.
1 John 5: 14-15
"This is the confidence that we have
in approaching God: that if we ask
anything according to his will, he
hears us.
And if we know that he hears
us - whatever we ask - we know
that we have what we asked of him."

Let's pray.
Dear Father God:
We humbly come before your
throne of grace.
We pray dear Father for your
Holy Spirit to encourage us to study
your precious Holy Word, daily.
We pray Father, for a full suit
of your armor, to be fitted to our
souls, and sealed in the blood of Jesus.
We pray dear Father
that through constant prayer, and
daily Bible study, that our confidence
in you will constantly grow.
Father from the very depths
of our humble Christian hearts,
we pray that we may walk forward
in spiritual boldness.
We pray that those who are
in the world, will be able to see
the light of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ, shining ever so
brightly within us.
And come to salvation.
In the name of Jesus.
We thank you Father
for our suits of armor
which you have so graciously
given to each one of us.
I pray Father for our faith
to constantly grow in you,
through Jesus Christ.
Amen

I have used
"The Revell Bible Dictionary"
to describe the Armor Of God.

Glory be to Jesus.
Yes! Hallelujah! Praise God.
Amen
