Challenging the Thermal Currents

While out walking
my dog along
the dike that keeps the Tulameen
River in place
I happened to glance skyward.
Noticing a pair of bald eagles,
challenging the thermal currents.
My what a splendid sight.
Bald eagles gliding,
soaring ever so gracefully.
Above the Tulameen River.
These magnificent birds of prey,
screech to each other,
as they swoop and dive, folding
their wings, and rolling in
the thermal current.
Challenging the air waves.
high-pitched voice,
mingled with the rushing of
the Tulameen River,
are in harmony with Mother Nature,
bringing a glowing smile to
my fresh air, bathed face.
As my heart and mind,
absorb the aerodynamic show,
of this pair of energetic bald eagles,
challenging the thermal currents,
my spiritually tingling soul does rejoice.
