Finnegan Creek Haul Road Hike

On the morning of Saturday
Pastor Dave and I strike out,
upon the Red Creek Forestry access road.
After climbing to the two and a half
kilometre mark, Pastor Dave and I halt,
for a well deserved, Christian lunch break.
Before opening our packs,
Pastor Dave does pray.
Thanking God for his grand creation
and for the food that we have to nourish
our bodies.
Glory be to Jesus, our spiritually-filled
souls do shout.
After a bite to eat, and a cup of tea,
We praise God, giving glory to Jesus,
for our creator's truly awesome creation,
in which our spirits flourish.
Pastor Dave, and I amble through
God's creation. Thanking God for creating
us to enjoy his rich blessings.
We halt in our tracks to admire
three gorgeous mule deer, which sprint across
our path.
Jehovah Jireh, our loving provider,
Pastor Dave and I dearly love you.
Hallelujah!
Glory be to Jesus, for your delightful blessings,
in which our spirits bathe.
Three Canada Jays, soar out of a thicket
to greet us. Welcome the trio say.
God is good, all the time.
Fulfilling our every desire.
Upon stopping for tea
Pastor Dave and I take note of
the skyline before us, caressed with
billowy smiling clouds.
Rays of sunlight beaming through.
Filled with God's magnificent intimate love.
Upon reaching the eight kilometre mark,
Pastor Dave and I decide it's time,
for some high adventure.
Scrambling up a slight slope,
we work our way through a young stand
of jack pine. Stepping over windfalls
and carefully placing our feet
in amongst the foliage, admiring
the super natural growth, found upon
Mother Nature's floor.
Stopping to take a wee rest
Pastor Dave and I are startled with a
most unique soul inspiring sound.
More like a gentle whisper. Most
invigorating. Pastor Dave and I listen
as God addresses us by our names.
"Dave and Jim" our creator calls.
"I will guide you."
My! how God's love does abound.
God guides Pastor Dave and I through
a maze of unique tapestry.
Truly and simply divine,
With our creator's guiding hand
Pastor Dave and I, find ourselves back
on Finnegan Creek road.
Homeward bound.
God you are most beautiful.
Your grand creation astounds us.
God, your divine Holy Spirit
is continually guiding us.
Yes! all the time.
Truer love cannot be found.
Glory be to Jesus. Hallelujah!
