Hoot Owl Camp

On the shore of the Tulameen
River.
Three tents are set up.
A campfire pit is created.

Peace and wilderness serenity
is truly enjoyed, by a group
of four.

The sound, so magnificently
created by running water.
A pair of squirrels playing
tag, scurrying up a spruce tree
trunk, chattering as they go.

With camp facing the pristine
Tulameen River;
and most eloquently backdropped
by an evergreen thicket.
Yes! Nature does deliver.

Deep into the night, a
wilderness welcoming committee
awakens the weary campers.

Not too far away, an owl is
gently hooting.

Laying in our tents, and enjoying
this sacred tranquil wilderness
moment, our spirits are freshened.

All of a sudden!
The slap of a beaver tail!
Not too far off shore.

Four, high-spirited backpackers
absorbed in the grip of
the Tulameen Valley's
wilderness love.
