K.V.R Hike

On the morning of February 28, seven highly
enthusiastic Vermilion Forks Field Naturalists, hiked
out of Coalmont. On an eastward heading along the
K.V.R. bed. Along the meandering Tulameen River.
The sounds of Nature, mingled with the flowing
Tulameen River, refreshing. Yes! Filling our hearts
with tranquil peace and joy.
Shadows of trees, displayed upon the golden
sparkling, sun bathed winter landscape.
At the five kilometre mark, the naturalists leave the
K.V.R. and stride down to a masterfully crafted beach,
on the pristine river's shore.
Here, there is a placid pool. Acting as a painter's
canvas. Reflecting Mother Nature's winter solitude.
Enhanced with a bluff of red, skirting the river's
shore.
Completing the picture is the wintry graced skyline,
holding this masterpiece in its centre.
A campfire is lit on the snow line. Hotdogs are
roasted. And stories unfold of yesteryear.
In sharing Nature with others, these prolific Nature
lovers are thrilled.
The fire dies down, and is kicked out into the snow.
Then these seven rosy-cheeked smiling hikers, stroll
along the K.V.R. back to the peaceful little village
of Coalmont.
