Kettle Valley Engineer

The Kettle Valley engineer,
Has a lot of work to do,
Keep the gleaming,
Steam engine upon the track,
Different gauges must be watched,
And the following cars running true,
Watching for,
Rocks and wildlife upon,
The ribbons of steel,
Listening,
To the steam engines roar,
The sound of,
Iron wheels clicking,
On the coupling joints,
Admiring the awesome beauty,
Sitting high above,
The glistening rails,
Our Kettle Valley engineer,
Peers back out the locomotive's,
Window,
While rounding a bend,
Keeping an eye on,
The caboose as it trails,
At the far end.
A Kettle Valley engineer,
Works long hours,
Keeping an eye on,
The steam locomotive,
And the following cars,
Sometimes the steam
Engine chokes and belches,
And showers,
Of sparks cascade,
Over the engineer's dream.
