Manion Creek Camp

Holy Spirit Inspired

On the shore of,
the Tulameen River.
Manion Creek, a tributary
rushing in.
Adding eloquence to
the Tulameen.
And the feeling of Mother Nature's
exquisite bond of love.
Sitting on a rock,
at water's edge.
Admiring a Sandpiper
on the opposite shore.
Frolicking in the ripples,
created by; water breaking,
over the rocks just above.
Gazing upstream,
from my rock-hard chair,
on river's edge.
In the middle of the afternoon.
I am absorbed in the sheen,
on the surface of the river.
Meandering amongst the boulders.
Of the River Tulameen.
Lifting my field of view,
to the evergreen tree adorned
skyline.
Finding a few wisps of cloud,
skirting the heavens.
Sitting in the shade,
truly amazed.
The leaves reflecting the sunlight,
look as if they have each been
glazed.
A chipmunk scampers out of
the foliage, to my delight.
Our campsite is truly, supernaturally
spectacular.
On a sandy flat just above,
the Tulameen River.
Jan and I have set up our tents.
Camp is encased in Mother Nature's
tranquil pristine love.
A rolling knoll, studded with,
fireweed dressed in a hint of pink.
The shrubbery varies, emitting
different hues of green.
Graced by the Tulameen River.
Jan and I are sitting on the
sun-splattered river embankment.
What should appear?
A chipmunk, who starts to scold.
Our dog says, "O dear!"
And just stares.
Mr. chipmunk is extremely bold.
As twilight descends,
through the valley,
up the slope of Jackson Mountain
the sunshine ascends.
The sunshine has bid
Jan and I adieu.
A unique, and exquisitely refreshing
day.
The Tulameen River, is rolling
along, singing as it goes, I love you.
Laying in my tent
I listen to the sounds of Mother
Nature.
In the foreground,
of our pristine wilderness camp,
is a deep pool in the river.
Nestled in a chasm.
The water playing over the rocks,
creating a waterfall sound.
The water cascading in,
creates a rippling effect over
the length of the otherwise
placid pool.
While enjoying the profound
sound, of the living water,
a squirrel chatters.
Letting Jan and I know,
that after a full day of hiking,
and relaxing in the tranquility
of creation.
A totally refreshing sleep is
what really matters.
Into Mother Nature's dreamland
Jan and I go.
Peering out of my tent window,
early in the morning,
I truly admire the work of
the golden globe in the sky.
Caressing the tree tops in a
splendid array of warmth and
love.
Our Creator has begun a
new days's work.
This Jan and I do not deny.
While sitting on a rock,
before the perfectly awesome
Tulameen River's pool of
splendor,
a Canada Jay, soars across
the river, and into the shrubbery,
on the upper slope.
Creation has a most unique way,
of freshening one's spirit.
As I sit here, on the Tulameen
River's shore, in the dawning of
a new day.
With a professional backpacker's
smile,
the perfectly awesome new day
is met.
Two happy campers share breakfast.
Coffee is savored.
Our day, fresh, and richly blessed.
In the supernatural glory of sunshine.
After Jan and I relax on the river's
shore, with a coffee, absorbing the
vastness of creation.
Camp is broken.
Homeward bound! Our spirits
have truly been refreshed.
Creation, packed to overflowing
with our Creator's perfectly awesome
love.
This Jan, and I do not deny.
Upon reaching the peaceful little
village of Coalmont,
Jan and I each head home.
For a well deserved rest.
Praising and humbly thanking
our provider,
in heaven above.
