Mist Upon the River

Jan and I hike along,
the river Tulameen.
Our hearts singing a
joyful song.
While watching the jagged
ice, sheen.
The river has risen.
due to a heavy rain.
Mist upon the river has
encased chunks of ice
in a prison.
Warm weather has released,
blocks of ice, as a train.
Tulameen River beneath,
a trailing canopy of
pristine mist.
Clothed in glorious eloquence,
enhancing our hike, in soul
stirring relief.
The meandering Tulameen River
has been kissed.
