Mule Deer's Sandbar

Inspired by: Jan Yampolsky

While out hiking,
along the rail bed.
Beside the Tulameen River.
Jan and I observe,
a majestic mule deer wading
across the meandering Tulameen River.
Stepping up onto the sandbar,
from Mother Nature's pantry,
our friend of the wild is fed.
Truly to our liking.
Yes! Mother Nature does deliver.
As Jan and I saunter along,
numerous wildflowers are seen.
Mother Nature's pristine beauty
we each behold.
Yellow toadflax, scarlet gillia,
yellow salsify, penstemon, pink pussy
toes, white pussy toes, thimbleberry,
and wild roses.
Which are so aromatic.
A constant eye is kept on the river.
Reflected off the surface of
the serene Tulameen River
is a mirror reflection of eloquence.
Tree adorned mountains, with,
a clear blue sky.
Nature has been created in our Creator's
love.
Two miles out,
Jan and I crest a knoll,
just above the river.
Yes! we each enjoy a walkahaulic lunch.
Then laying back we relax,
and absorb each unique sound.
The ultimate rushing river.
Various birds, blessing us with;
exquisite songs.
After our spirits have been freshened,
Jan and I are homeward bound.
