Second Fiddle

After finishing grandpa's
birthday feast,
at A & P Ranch,
toe-stomping music
from a guitar, percussionist,
and fiddle is released.
With my fiddle in hand,
to the front I stride.
Joining the three piece band.
Playing second fiddle with pride.
Jigs, reels, and waltzes
are played.
The dance floor comes alive.
With couples two-stepping,
the love of our music is;
being displayed.
The love of the fiddle,
gives me my drive.
Playing second fiddle,
dancers keeping time to our
tunes.
Has increased my confidence
in my musical style.
After the last tune is played,
the professional fiddle player
which I kept tune after tune
with did smile.
Playing second fiddle, Yes!
