Spectacular Fall Hike

Jan and I each, put our best foot forward.
Westward bound, kicking fallen golden leaves,
along the rail bed.
The awesome day, is truly exquisite,
most spectacular.
God's creation is alive, Yes! we feel his
presence in the countryside.
A rabbit, whose coat is changing
from summer brown to snow white,
hops out of the foliage, beside the trail,
and does the rabbit two-step.
Quite the show.
Jan and I amble along, happy and free.
Off to our left, in a meadow, beside the
Tulameen River, our roving eyes zero in,
on a majestic mule deer buck, dancing,
through the carpet of harvest gold leaves.
Our friend sees us and figures he must go.
Jan and I meander across the wind
whipped field, and scramble down to
the river's shore.
Two mallards lift off, from a placid pool
soaring out over the river, and down the valley.
The wilderness is most alive. God we love you.
After a cup of coffee and a snack,
Jan and I are on our way.
Upon arriving in Tulameen, we hike
up Lawless Creek Road, to visit John
and Trudy Parolin.
The view from John's and Trudy's home
is a most unique God-given gift.
Looking out over a meadow, and above
the treetops, Jackson Mountain
is most striking.
Still dressed in green.
Giving Jan and I a true spiritual lift.
After a short refreshing visit,
Jan and I are homeward bound,
Through the autumn countryside.
Truer uplifting beauty we've never
seen.
Four kilometres from home
a magpie, graced in majesty, glides out
of a lonesome pine tree.
The flowing countryside is most unique.
God's creation, truly lifts our souls.
God is love, that cannot be denied!
A spectacular fall hike.
Sauntering through God's creation,
with a true friend.
I know of what I speak.
Hallelujah! Glory be to Jesus.
