The Elusive Morel

For the beginner,
It's hard to find,
The elusive morel,
Where do we look?
On a grass-covered slope?
Or beside a babbling brook?
After meandering around,
We have a winner,
The elusive morel,
Is worth eight dollars a pound,
There is hope,
After meandering for miles,
We have enough for a light dinner,
Our find brings three cheery smiles.
The elusive morel,
Takes a lot of hunting,
Climbing slope after slope,
We get exercise,
And do a lot of grunting,
But there is hope,
To our surprise,
The elusive morel,
Is found,
In the damp spots,
The elusive morel,
Is worth eight dollars a pound,
Experienced pickers find lots.
A bear was seen,
Ambling along,
Through the brush,
Ever so green,
The lure of the elusive morel,
Is exceedingly strong,
Even the bear is in a rush,
Once the elusive morel is found,
You can't go wrong,
The elusive morel,
Is worth eight dollars a pound.
Thank you Mr. Bear,
For the show,
Happy traveling,
We'll take your share,
Of the elusive morel.
