The Old Rugged Cross

I cherish that old rugged cross.
At the cross my spirit is humbled.
Because for what my Savior
Jesus Christ has done for me.
Living in faith;
and a sin-free man
Jesus gave his humble godly life
upon the cross of Calvary.
Opening the door into eternity.
I pick up my cross each day.
And follow Jesus's ways.
For through his life that Jesus
gave upon the cross,
I receive what Jesus has for me.
Spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing.
Luke 9:23-24
"Then he said to them all: 'If
anyone would come after me, he
must deny himself and take up
his cross daily and follow me.
For whoever wants to save his life
will lose it, but whoever loses his life
for me will save it.'"
