Stopping along the Tulameen
River's shore.
While hiking along the Kettle
Valley Railway Line.
Three pair of wilderness
roving eyes, spot and focus on
a mule deer.
Out on a gravel bar, in the
middle of the rushing Tulameen.
With its focus on the rugged
far shoreline, the deer
strides out into mid-stream.
The water is deep and
running fast.
Washing this wondrous creature of
the wild, downstream
for a ways.
Taken to the far shoreline
by the powerful force of Nature
this high-spirited, gifted
mule deer, has conquered its foe.
High-stepping out of the river
onto a rocky slope.
In the graceful power of Mother
Nature's guiding love.
Our four-legged friend dashes
into the dense underbrush
of the heavily timbered slope.
Yes! Wild and free!
A little farther along the
flooding Tulameen River,
six eloquent Canada geese
are seen.
On the far shore.
Three wilderness wanderers, halt
and admire the waterfowl
as they begin to preen.
Six Canada geese, wild
and free!
Serenely blessed by Mother
Nature.
Could these thankful Nature
lovers ask for more?
Looking heavenward;
wilderness observant roving eyes
pick out a red-tailed hawk.
Gliding, with its pinions set
catching the fullness of the
reverberating prevailing
air currents.
This master of the airwaves
is having a ball
and is in full control.
Letting the rolling thermal
currents do their work.
Mother Nature's acrobatic
display is enhanced
with a cumulus nimbus cloud
backdrop.
Adding sheer eloquence.
A mule deer challenging the
flooding Tulameen River, and
succeeding.
Six Canada geese, preening
and at peace.
A red-tailed hawk, gliding to
and fro. Beneath a billowy
cloud bank.
Wild and free!
Mother Nature has graced,
and truly blessed our day.
