Wilderness Call

From high on a craggy bluff,
a most magnificent bald eagle soars.
Catching a thermal current on
which to glide, this superior raptor,
screams in delight.
This most unique wilderness call
reverberates across the vast expanse.
echoing off of, the snow dabbled
mountain tops.
A gorgeous, golden high country sunrise,
dressing the eastern horizon.
Mingling with the king of the airwaves
screeching wake-up call,
welcomes a serene alpine day.
Bald eagle circles, admiring
Mother Nature, as she comes alive.
Alpine flowers smiling, as wee critters,
scamper to and fro.
With legs outstretched and talons open wide,
eagle screams in, locking his grip, on a weather beaten treetop.
