You Are a Child of God

You are a child of God;
covered by the blood of Jesus.
You have full resurrection power
and authority over the devil.
Submit yourself to God,
resist the devil and he will flee.
James 4:1-10 NKJV
"Where do wars and fights come from
among you? Do they not come from your
desires for pleasure that war in your members?
You lust and do not have. You murder and
covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war.
Yet you do not have because you do not ask.
You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss,
that you may spend it on your pleasures;
Adulterers and adulteresses!
Do you not know that friendship with the world
is enmity with God?
Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the
world makes himself an enemy of God.
Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain,
"The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously?"
But he gives more grace.
Therefore he says:
"God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the
humble."
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he
will flee from you.
Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.
Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts,
you double-minded.
Lament and mourn and weep!
Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy
to gloom.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he
will lift you up.
How can you come close to God? James gives
five ways:
(1) Humble yourselves before God (4:7).
Yield to his authority and will, commit your life
to him and his control, and be willing to follow
him.
(2) Resist the devil(4:7) Don't allow Satan to entice
and tempt you.
(3) Wash your hands . . . and purify your hearts
(that is, lead a pure life) (4:8). Be cleansed from
sin, replacing your desire to sin with your desire to
experience God's purity.
(4) Let there be sorrow and deep grief for your sins
(4:9). Don't be afraid to express deep heartfelt
sorrow for what you have done.
(5) Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he
will lift you up in honour (4:10; 1 Peter 5:6).
Bowing in humility before the Lord means recognizing
that our worth comes from God alone. To be humble
involves leaning on his power and his guidance, and
not going our own independent way. Although we
do not deserve God's favour, he wants to lift us up
and give us worth and dignity, despite our human
shortcomings.
1 Peter 5:6-11
"So humble yourselves under the mighty power of
God, and at the right time he will lift you up in
honor.
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares
about you.
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil.
He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for
someone to devour.
Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith.
Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all
over the world are going through the same kind of
suffering you are.
In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal
glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered
a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you,
and he will place you on a firm foundation.
All power to him forever!
Amen.
You are a child of God. Yes! A child of the universe.
Jesus Christ of Nazareth is your rock solid foundation.
Focus on the trials and temptations that our Lord Jesus Christ
went through and overcame while He was here on earth, and
you will never ever lose heart.
Let not your hearts be troubled! Trust in God. Trust also in
Jesus.
Remember, that if you diligently and earnestly seek God
in Christ-like faith; you will be graciously rewarded.
Oh Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
God's protection in the midst of danger. God doesn't
promise a world free from danger, but he does promise his
help whenever we are in danger.
Psalm 91:1-16 NLT
"Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will
find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you
from deadly disease.
He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day.
Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
Though a thousand fall at your side,
though ten thousand are dying around you,
these evils will not touch you.
Just open your eyes,
and see how the wicked are punished.
If you make the Lord your refuge,
if you make the Most High your shelter,
no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near
your home.
For he will order his angels to protect you wherever
you go.
They will hold you up in their hands,
so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone.
You will trample upon lions and cobras;
you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!

The Lord says, "I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name.
When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
I will reward them with a long life.
and give them my salvation."
You are a child of God;
follow the proven and most holy righteous ways
of Jesus Christ; our Father's loyal begotten Son.
Praise and worship God for:
His grace, and divine unfailing intimate love.
For you are a child of Jesus Christ; the true and
living God.
